Woman (80s) dies after van and car crash in Co Mayo
A woman in her 80s has died in a road crash in Co Mayo.
The collision, involving a car and a van, occurred at 5.30pm near Achill Sound.
The woman, the sole driver of the car, was pronounced dead shortly after.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses near the R319 to come forward. The road will remain closed overnight as an examination continues.
