Skeletal remains have been found in north Dublin.

Gardaí say they are carrying out an investigation after the remains were found at the N2 interchange in Finglas shortly after 3pm yesterday afternoon.

The area has been sealed off for a technical examination, with the Office of the State Pathologist requested to attend the scene.

Gardaí say the results of those examinations will determine the course of the investigation.
