Eva Longoria and Gillian Anderson among stars at Cannes Film Festival

Eva Longoria, Gillian Anderson, and Monica Bellucci were among the stars on the red carpet for the premiere of Histoires De La Nuit (The Birthday Party) in Cannes on Friday.follows
The French drama film, written and directed by Lea Mysius, follow a family as their preparations for a surprise birthday party descend into a violent home invasion.
American actress, producer and businesswoman Longoria, best known for starring in Desperate Housewives, was among the celebrities pictured smiling for photos while attending the event at the 79th Cannes Film Festival.

The actress wowed crowds in a long, elegant white gown with a long train and a pleated sparkling details embellished on its torso, which she elevated with diamond accessories including a necklace and dangling earrings.
The 51-year-old also paired the look with a dramatic full face of make-up, and posed for photos alongside Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who wore a dramatic navy blue beaded gown.
Other stars in attendance include Hollywood actress Anderson, who wore a simple black gown which was elevated with a dazzling bejewelled fan bustier, paired with simple make-up and an elegant messy updo.
The X-Files star, 57, accessorised the ensemble with silver dangling earrings and a matching bracelet, and blew kisses on the red carpet as she arrived for the screening.

Anderson is also known for playing sex therapist Jean Milburn in Netflix’s Sex Education as well as for starring in The Crown in which she portrayed Margaret Thatcher, a role that landed her the outstanding supporting actress in a drama series Emmy award in 2021.
Italian actress Bellucci, who stars in the new film, was also at the event and was pictured waving to fans on the red carpet while flanked by her co-stars including Hafsia Herzi, Benoit Magimel and Bastien Bouillon.
The 61-year-old actress, known for roles in The Matrix franchise and in The Passion Of The Christ (2004), plays solitary painter Cristina in the film – the only neighbour of the couple the thriller revolves around.

The star embodied the gothic vibe of the film with an all-black ensemble, a lace gown with leather accents, which she paired the with dramatic eye make-up, while her dark hair was styled with wispy bangs which shielded her face.
Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard, known for Sentimental Value (2025), was also among the stars at the event and wore a simple black suit which he brightened up with a vibrant red shirt.
Other stars in Cannes on Friday included Spanish stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Calvo, who attended a photocall for the drama film The Black Ball (La Bola Negra) in the afternoon.
