The four-part drama follows 13-year-old Jamie Miller, played by Owen Cooper, who is arrested for the murder of a teenage girl in his school, and examines so-called incel (involuntary celibate) culture.

The series, which prompted a national conversation about online safety and was praised by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, also scored nominations for Christine Tremarco, Erin Doherty, Ashley Walters and Cooper in their respective supporting actor/actress categories.

Sex Education star Wood is up for two awards this year, one for the supporting actress category for her role in Sky Atlantic’s The White Lotus, in which she starred as Chelsea in the third series of Mike White’s black comedy.

Her second nomination is in the leading actress category, where she is nominated for her role in comedy series Film Club, which she also co-created and which stars Suranne Jones.

The Traitors presenter Claudia Winkleman will reunite with Celebrity contestants – Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed, Calendar Girls actress Celia Imrie and series winner comedian Alan Carr, who will present during the night.

The Celebrity Traitors, which was a ratings hit for the BBC, scored five nominations, including best reality series and best entertainment performance for host Winkleman.

The moment of Carr’s victory is also nominated for the memorable moment award, the only category voted for by the public.

Carr is also up for the entertainment performance category alongside Amanda Holden, who will also be attending, for their renovation series Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job.

Doctor Who star Matt Smith will also be at the ceremony, up for the leading actor category for Death Of Bunny Munro, with Hollywood actor Seth Rogan, whose series The Studio is up for the international award.

Other celebrity presenters include Severance actor Adam Scott, The Walking Dead star Lennie James, Amandaland’s Lucy Punch and Rivals stars Alex Hassell, Bella Maclean and Danny Dyer.

Mary Berry will receive a Bafta fellowship and financial journalist and broadcaster Martin Lewis will receive the Bafta television special award.
