NFL star Travis Kelce has said he does not have “any beef” with actress Meryl Streep after she jokingly called him out in a promotional video.

Streep, who stars in the upcoming sequel to the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, said the hardest thing about shooting in Milan was walking in stilettos on cobbled stones, before joking: “I’d like to see Travis Kelce do that.”

The Kansas City Chiefs player appeared surprised to see that he was mentioned by the Academy Award winner and responded to the challenge in his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts along with his brother Jason Kelce.

When asked by his brother if he has “beef” with Streep, Travis replied: “I hope she doesn’t have beef with me.

“That’s a powerful woman right there. I’m a fan of Meryl Streep. I don’t have any beef with her.”

Jason then played the clip of Streep, to which Travis replied: “I’ll give credit where credit is due, I don’t think I could do it Meryl. I’ll let you have that.

“I’ll tell you what Meryl, if I ever find myself in Italy on that cobblestone I’ll try and find a size 14 and put it to the test.”

Kelce, who has won three Super Bowls with the Chiefs, is also the fiance to popstar Taylor Swift – with the pair announcing their engagement in a viral joint Instagram post in August.

Streep stars alongside Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt in the highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2.

It follows Andy Sachs (Hathaway) as she returns to the fictional Runway Magazine where she faces the fierce editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep) and her close confidante, Nigel Kipling (Tucci) as they come to terms with a new media landscape which may be in the hands of another former assistant now turned head of a luxury brand, Emily Charlton (Blunt).
