Millie Bobby Brown’s teenage sleuth Enola Holmes is to tie the knot, according to first-look pictures from the third film in the detective series.

In Enola Holmes 3 the Stranger Things actress reprises her role as the mystery-solving sister of detective Sherlock Holmes, as she travels to Malta to tackle her latest case.

Brown, 22, is pictured as the brilliant sleuth wearing a wedding dress with a veil concealing her face, seemingly prepared to walk down the aisle.

It is implied her groom will be Lord Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge, as a further preview of the film shows him proposing to the shocked detective.

Other images show them getting close, and Holmes facing a potentially life-threatening situation, a shocked expression on her face as she stands in a burning building.

Elsewhere, award-winning actress Helena Bonham Carter makes her return as Brown’s on-screen mother, the fiercely independent Eudoria Holmes.

Superman star Henry Cavill is pictured reprising his role as Sherlock, accompanying his troublesome sister on her adventures, and former EastEnders actor Himesh Patel returns as his friend, Dr John Watson.

Sharon Duncan-Brewster is also among the returns for the highly-anticipated third film, reprising her role as Mira Troy, a reimagined version of manipulative mastermind Moriarty.

The movies are adapted by Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne from Nancy Springer’s series of mystery novels about the teenage detective.

In the latest film Philip Barantini, also known for Netflix hit Adolescence, takes over as director from Harry Bradbeer, and it has been co-produced by Brown.

Enola Holmes 3 will follow the sleuth on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before, and will be released on Netflix in July.
