Zara Larsson says Brat singer Charli XCX inspired her upcoming remix album which features a string of stars including Shakira, PinkPantheress and Robyn.

The 28-year-old Swedish singer revealed she will release Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, a “reworked” and “reimagined” remix deluxe edition of her 2025 album.

The record, out on May 1, will feature 13 female artists including Pinkpantheress, who Larsson worked with on the remix of the viral song Stateside.

Speaking about the record on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Larsson said: “They are just reproduced and like reworked. A lot of them are really like amazing new songs.

“I can’t believe this is happening because I’ve always said I wanted to do collabs with girls, and it’s so many girls are on this.”

South African singer-songwriter Tyla will also feature on the record after the pair teamed up for the recently released song She Did It Again and its accompanying music video.

Others joining Larsson on the album include Madison Beer, Kehlani and Bambii along with Margo Xs, JT, Emilia Mernes, Malibu, Eli and Helena Gao.

The singer said she was inspired by popstar Charli XCX who, following her global success with her 2024 record Brat, released its deluxe album titled “Brat And Its Completely Different But Also Still Brat” – which featured a number of singers including Troye Sivan, Ariana Grande and Lorde.

She said: “I was super inspired by Charlie XCX, how she did her album.

“Usually there’s just so many versions of it that never really gets to see the light of day or there’s so many ways you can take a production.
