Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas has broken down in tears after former footballer Jimmy Bullard nearly got him evicted from I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.

Thomas’s time in the jungle was almost compromised by Bullard who exclaimed “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here” during a bushtucker trail where the pair were partnered together.

As a result, Thomas was meant to leave camp with the former footballer which led to an explosive row between the two.

But because Bullard had not attempted the challenge, presenters Ant and Dec asked the campmates if they wanted to keep Thomas in who unanimously voted for the actor to remain on the show.

It came after the former Fulham player was seen watching the Bushtucker trail before he told his team: “Boys, I don’t think I’ve got it in me.”

Bullard then apologised to Thomas and said, “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here”, which caused the trial to end for everyone and meant that contestants must forfeit the stars they have won.

The Waterloo Road star stormed over to Bullard during a heated exchange and said: “Taking the f****** piss, are you taking the f****** piss?”

He added: “I’m in there getting covered in f****** ants”.

Bullard responded by telling him to “calm down” and described his outburst as “pathetic”.

The explosive row between the pair left their campmates in shock with many deeming it unfair for Thomas to leave.

When hearing that his campmates had voted to keep him in, he burst into tears, and said: “I appreciate that, guys. Thank you and I’m so sorry the way that I acted as well, it was just emotions are really running high.”

Speaking about his decision to leave the camp, Bullard said: “What a kerfuffle.

“Letting Adam down’s a killer. He’s my boy. He’s just on a different journey to me.

“He wants to win it. He wants to do well and I get it.

“I’ve got my mum and dad at home as well. The old man ain’t too well.

“People think I’m a bit out there and I give it to people – it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re ready for them trials.”

“I struggled so much. It’s got harder and harder” he added.

“Unfortunately, my time was up in the game.”

Bullard’s departure comes before the eagerly-anticipated series finale on Friday, during which the public will have the power to cast their vote for the winner and decide who is crowned the “ultimate legend 2026”.

I’m A Celebrity… South Africa airs at 9pm on weeknights on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
