The explosive first season of Paradise was one of the most promising post-apocalyptic shows in years and that has been cemented in season two.

Before you read on, there are spoilers in this piece if you are not up to date with Paradise.

Six episodes in, season two is showing us what the outside world is like, and it is just as deadly as the bunker in Colorado.

Season one first portrayed itself as a murder mystery as Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K Brown) found himself  investigating the assassination of the US president Cal Bradford (James Marsden).

It then emerged that an extinction level climate disaster had left the US comprising of a select bunch of survivors in a futuristic bunker in Colorado, a 'paradise'.

However, we have since learnt there are survivors outside, and they are keen to get in.

This has introduced new cast members to the already impressive mix, including Shailene Woodley, who plays Annie.

She mets with Xavier, who is on a crusade to reunite with his wife Teri (Enuka Okuma).

Back in Colorado,  vice president Baines (Matt Malloy) is back in charge and it's safe to say the power has gone to his head, evidenced by a crackpot idea to use precious power to make the sun look brighter.

In the latest episode, viewers learnt more of the backstory surrounding the ruthless, and psychotic, killer agent Jane Driscoll (Nicole Brydon Bloom).

With a caravan of sinister outsiders camped outside the bunker and demanding entry, Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson) has made Jane her point person and it's safe to say this will be a big plotline in the last two episodes of the season.

Two episodes doesn't seem enough, and the success of the show is obvious in the fact it has already been commissioned for a third season.

You can stream all episodes of Paradise on Disney+
