Making it to February is an achievement in itself. We've made it out the other side of winter, and we can look forward to brighter and longer days ahead.
If you're looking for things to do this week, we have compiled a list of new film and music releases, along with a gig guide, to help you plan the start of February!
Gigs and events
If you're in the mood for some comedy, BAFTA-winning comedian Adam Kay will share his hilarious diaries as a junior doctor in an evening of stand-up at Dublin's Ambassador Theatre on Tuesday, February 3rd.
Imelda May will perform at Cork Opera House on the same night.
American pop duo Magdalena Bay will take to the stage at Dublin's Vicar Street on Thursday, February 5th.
The biggest event of the week will be Hot Press’ 50th Anniversary activities at the 3Arena.
Tommy Tiernan, Gavin James, Van Morrison, Imelda May, Emma Doran, Tony Cantwell, and Rachel Galvo are just some of the stars who will perform as part of the Hot Press show History In The Making on Friday, February 6th.
On the same night, for those into country music, Mike Denver will perform in Wexford's Riverside Park Hotel.
On Saturday, February 7th, Keith Barry will bring his Unhinged - 25 Years Inside Your Mind show to Dublin's 3Arena.
Imelda May will play Killarney's Gleneagle Arena on the same night.
Jason Derulo's Last Dance World Tour will touch down in Dublin's 3Arena on Monday, February 9th.

New music
Nick Jonas' new album 'Sunday Best' will come out on Friday, February 6th.
Glimpse of Us singer Joji will release his fouth studio album 'Piss in the Wind' on the same day.
American rock band Ratboys will release 'Singin' to an Empty Chair', their sixth studio album, on February 6th too.
If rap is more your style, J. Cole will release 'The Fall-Off' on the same day.
New films and Netflix releases
Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien star in 'Send Help', which will arrive in cinemas on Friday, February 6th.
The American survival horror film stars McAdams and O'Brien as an employee and her boss, respectively, who become stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash and attempt to survive while tension rises between them.
Edyll Ismail, Xavier Samuel, Chris Pang, and Dennis Haysbert also star in the film directed by Sam Raimi.
If you fancy a night in this week and don't want to make the trek to the cinema, Netflix will be adding new shows and films to the streaming service.
Starring Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Evans, the comedy/mystery 'Honey Don't' will be available to stream on Netflix from Tuesday, February 3rd.
'Queen of Chess' will be available from Friday, February 6th. The documentary follows chess phenom Judit Polgár battling skepticism, sexism, and champion Garry Kasparov to claim her place among the game's all-time greats.
Eddie Vedder's soul-stirring Seattle benefit concert fuels a documentary, 'Matter of Time', about the race to cure the rare genetic disorder epidermolysis bullosa. It will be available on Netflix on February 9th.
