€10 haircuts to celebrate Ireland’s World Cup play-off dream

To celebrate the Republic of Ireland's victory against Hungary on Sunday - and qualifying for the World Cup playoffs - The Grafton Barber chain is offering haircuts for just €10 today.

The offer is available to men, women and children in any of The Grafton Barber outlets, which number over 60 outlets across the island, on Monday so long as the person is wearing an Irish football jersey. The jersey need not be new - any era will do.

On Sunday, Troy Parrott scored a superb hat-trick as the Republic of Ireland snatched a World Cup play-off place from Hungary’s grasp with a dramatic 3-2 win in Budapest.

Parrott, who also scored twice in Ireland’s win over Portugal on Thursday, told RTE: “I’m really, really emotional. They’re tears of joy. Ah, what a night, what a night.

“I said against Portugal that this is what dreams are made of, but this tonight, I don’t think I’ll ever have a better night in my whole life.”

According to Grafton Barber's Hugh Mc Allister: "We’re passionate supporters of Irish football, and we want to celebrate this massive moment with the entire country."

The family-owned Irish company started trading in the 1970s when Hugh's father moved from Belfast to Dublin. Along with its barber shops, Grafton also operates its school of excellence, with full-time and part-time courses in hairdressing.
