At Killaloe District Court sitting in Ennis on Tuesday, the alleged injured party in the case also secured an Interim Barring Order (IBO) against the man arising from the alleged assault at the family home.

The accused, who cannot be named, was arrested at an address in Co Donegal by gardaí

The judge barred the man from the family home for three years after hearing a daughter of the couple describing her father as “a very violent person” and said that in the past he has taken out his belt to try to whip her mother.
