THEATRE

Saturday

David Nihill: Talking Tangents, Everyman, from €29, 8pm:The comedian’s shows draw on his wide travels, cultural observations, attempts at language study, (occasional) drinking session(s) and being a mildly confused immigrant.

GOLL, Cork Arts Theatre, €20, 4pm & 8pm: Strive Theatre and Cork band MacBóchra present the premiere of their bilingual theatrical collaboration. An experimental theatre work fusing music, poetry, film, dance, storytelling, and spectacle. Also on Sunday at the same times.

Banished, Firkin Crane, €36, 7pm: Interactive live entertainment experience inspired by The Traitors, as 14 audience members are randomly selected to take their seats on stage. Three will secretly become The Hidden. Their mission? Lie, manipulate and survive without being discovered.

Sunday Songbook: Keep It Country - 100 Years Of The Grand Ole Oprey, Everyman, €28, 3pm: The musical team celebrate a century of the iconic Nashville institution.

Andrew Ryan: Honest Capacity, Everyman, €27, 8pm: The comedian’s new show features tales of pet ownership, constant inability to read a room, and his unrelenting frustration and annoyance with the world around him.

Queen Of The Night - A Tribute To Whitney Houston, Cork Opera House, €39.50, 8pm: Celebrate the late, great diva’s remarkable musical repertoire in an electrifying production that honours her timeless songs.

Spotlight Chamber Music Series, Triskel Arts Centre, €18-15, 1pm: For the second concert in the series, curated by Cork native and cellist Aoife Burke, the renowned Cassiopeia Winds presents an eclectic programme of works for wind quintet.

The 4 Of Us, Sea Church, Ballycotton, €30, 8pm: With brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy at the helm, the band has left an indelible mark on the Irish music scene since the 1980s.

Sunday

Secret Song 2026, Levis Cornerhouse, Ballydehob, €70, 3pm: A live music and spoken word festival that sees up to 15 acts performing, showcasing the best of emerging and established artists. The audience moves from room to room, to the back garden, from the kitchen, to the ‘outback’ without knowing who they will find performing... hence the secret element.

Féile na Gaeilge , Ballydehob, most events free, some advance booking required:A village festival dedicated to the Irish language for everyone: children, teenagers, parents, neighbours, learners, and fluent speakers. Also on Sunday.

International rugby, Ireland Women v Japan Women, Virgin Media Park, €22.95, €6 for juniors, 2pm: A chance to see the girls in green on home soil.

Twilight Rave, Cyprus Avenue, Cork city, €10, 11pm: Step into the shadows and relive the magic, mystery, and eternal romance of the hit movie Twilight.
