Saturday

Behind The Scenes Tour, Everyman, free, but booking essential: As part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026, explore behind the scenes of the Victorian theatre, hearing all the strange stories, and learning its history. Running time: One hour. See https://cruinniu.gov.ie/

The Dowry, Cork Arts Theatre, 8pm, €18: Last chance to see the production by Derry Cotter, directed by John McCaffrey. A rural Irish village of the 1950s might resemble an idyllic existence, but under the surface tensions simmer.

Phil And Mena, Firkin Crane, 7.30pm, €21: Final performance of the comedy about stress, IBS, and the perfect red dress. It’s a play’ about overcoming stress, taking risks, and how achievement and self-belief are intertwined.

Amanda Shires, Triskel Arts Centre, 8pm €32.50: A singular creative force, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Shires has made an extraordinary career out of restlessly pursuing her deepest instincts and passions.

Michael Dwyer Traditional Music and Arts Festival, Allihies: Performances, workshops, and a tin whistle competition as part of this popular annual festival remembering the late Beara musician and composer, Michael Dwyer. Also Sunday.

Sunday

Pianoland Performs: First Student Concert, Aula Maxima, UCC, 6pm, €5 students, €10 adults: Pianoland presents its first student concert, a warm and family-friendly showcase from a private piano school in Cork.

Cork Carnival Of Science, Fitzgerald Park, Cork city, free: The first of two packed days of live experiments, interactive exhibits, colourful performances and hands-on discovery as part of the annual event, concluding on Sunday. See www.corkcity.ie/corkcarnivalofscience

Pirate Sea Shanty Concert, Nano Nagle Place, Cork city, 3pm, €5: Just one of the events as part of the ongoing Cork Harbour festival this weekend, which also include an Oceans of Discovery Experience at Camden Fort Meagher on Saturday and Sunday, and Taste of Powerboating with SailCork in East Ferry on Sunday. Rock The Block Youth Music Festival, Cork City Library, 1pm, free: Annual youth music celebration including performances from The Kabin Studio, Cork Barrack Street and Mahon Community Youth Bands.

Kneecap, Live At The Marquee, 7pm, €67-78: The much-talked-about band perform, bending genre, language, and rules.

Sunday

Darts Exhibition with Brendan Dolan & Willie O’Connor, Hibernian Hotel, Kinsale, 5pm, €15: An event to raise funds for Mallow Swans Swimming Club.

Back To Me: A Nervous System Reset’ Day Retreat, Ballymaloe Grainstore, 2pm, €110: Cork-based yoga teachers and wellbeing practitioners Kathryn Sheehan and Clodagh Ryan host a restorative half-day retreat.
