The last few seats are available for The Bootleg Beatles tomorrow night (Friday), while Saturday brings a special event to celebrate this great theatre’s 170th anniversary: Swingin’ In Time – Jazz Giants Through the Decades.

Paul Dunlea with his Big Band recreate jazz moments from unforgettable performances by visitors to Leeside like Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Tormé, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, and Blossom Dearie.

There is a lovely concert at St Patrick’s Church on the Lower Road tomorrow, when Chamber Choir Ireland celebrate the works of iconic Estonian composer Arvo Pärt who turns 90 this month. The perfect setting for such beautiful music. 7.30pm start. Tickets www.chamberchoirireland.com.

Warm Regards is at Cork Arts Theatre this week, showing how a lifetime friendship between women can be wrecked by the arrival of just one attractive man. A fascinating topic, it asks: how do we navigate envy and comparison in a culture that pits women against each other, whilst still romanticising female closeness? Until Saturday, 7.30pm, also a matinee on Saturday at 2pm.

News of a movie coming up that might interest you. Re-Creation: The Trial of Ian Bailey, directed by Jim Sheridan and David Merriman, will be released at Omniplex Cinemas on Friday, October 3. It will be followed by West Cork Murder: 2025 Case Analysis featuring both directors, hosted by Jennifer Forde of West Cork Podcast.
