The Cork Proms – Kings, Queens and Princes of Pop, Cork Opera House, 8pm: A sensational celebration of pop royalty, with songs by Queen, Prince, Elton John, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Michael Jackson and George Michael with the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra. Tickets €32.

Making History by Brian Friel, The Everyman, 2pm & 7.30pm: Directed by The Everyman’s new Artistic Director Des Kennedy. Tickets €39.

Coachford Players Present: Wake in The West, Briery Gap, Macroom, 8pm: Michael J. Ginnelly’s riotous comedy set in Ireland. Tickets €22.

Buile Shuibhne: Sweeney’s Madness, Triskel Arts Theatre, 8.30pm: This multi-media staging has modern Irish and Scottish Gaelic versions by poet Rody Gorman, live music by composer Seán MacErlaine and singer Diane Ni Channáin; and screen projections by Margaret Lonergan. Tickets €5.

Bermuda County Council, Clancy’s Bar, 7pm: A talented musical group. Free admission.

Paul Noonan with special guest Brian Crosby, The White Horse, 8.30pm: Songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist best known as the frontman of Irish group Bell X1.

Hot Blooded Animals, Coughlan’s, 10pm: Goodtime classic rock group. Free admission.

Tinnitus Promotions Presents Ora Cogan, Nudes Crafts and Cocktails, 7pm: Ora’s smoky, psychedelic approach to gothic country merges with post-punk, psych-rock. Tickets €15.

Carsie Blanton, Coughlan’s, 7.30pm: A songwriter with hooks, chutzpah, and revolutionary optimism. Tickets €22.50.

Derek Burke, Clancy’s, 8.30pm: The member of Crystal Swing hits the stage. Free admission.
