Macroom footballer Mark Hunt is embarking on a new chapter in his GAA journey after being appointed as the Games Promotion Officer for the Clonakilty area.
The appointment marks a significant milestone for the young Muskerry man, who has already made his mark both on and off the field.
A talented footballer with Macroom, Hunt has represented Cork at underage level and now takes on a position that carries a major responsibility in developing participation and engagement.

Hunt's appointment was officially confirmed by Cork GAA, with the Macroom clubman tasked with spearheading coaching initiatives and games promotion programmes throughout the Clonakilty region.
The role will involve delivering coaching sessions in local schools, supporting clubs in their player development structures and encouraging greater participation among young people.
Having come through the ranks in Macroom, he understands the importance of strong underage coaching structures and the positive impact Gaelic games can have on young people.
Hunt is well known within Cork GAA circles following his involvement with the county minor football squad in 2021.

At club level, Hunt has continued to be an important figure for Macroom.
The Games Promotion Officer programme has become a vital part of player development across Cork, with GPOs acting as a bridge between schools, clubs and county structures.
The Clonakilty area has a proud tradition and Hunt's arrival is expected to provide a further boost to GAA development in the region.
