Brian O'Sullivan stretches clear in Premier Senior scoring as Buckley tops from-play charts

After another exceptional Kanturk display and victory, it’s no surprise that Brian O’Sullivan has increased his lead at the top of the Premier Senior scoring charts, with the midfielder now on 2-44 after four games.

Shane Kingston and Patrick Horgan sit second and third respectively, the Douglas forward scoring 0-9 in their relegation playoff defeat to Fr O’Neill’s, while Horgan struck 1-12 versus Charleville.

But it’s the St Finbarr’s in-form forward William Buckley leading the from-play chart, with his 0-20 to date putting him ahead of Kanturk’s Colin Walsh and Blackrock’s Robbie Cotter.

At Senior A, Fionn Lardner tops the table for Fermoy after scoring 2-33, an excellent campaign despite their relegation.

Ger Collins sits only a point behind with 1-35, but with Ballinhassig eliminated, it’s third-placed Shane Barrett who trails Lardner by nine that is best placed to take top spot. Ballyhea’s Patrick Daly is tied with Barrett at present.

In the from-play scoring, Adam Murphy fronts the table ahead of teammate Seán Desmond. The pair have 2-16 and 3-11 respectively. Carrigtwohill’s James Mulcahy – one of three Carrig entries in the top ten – is tied for third with Na Piarsaigh’s Kevin Moynihan.

Aghabullogue’s Shane Tarrant (3-33) is a goal ahead of Brian Kelleher (2-33) of Carrigaline in the PIHC race, though with Aghabullogue now out, Kelleher is likely to take top spot. Jack Leahy is not far back, with 0-37 to his name so far.

But it’s Leahy’s Dungourney teammate that stands comfortably clear in the from-play scoring, as Cillian O’Callaghan has netted an outrageous seven goals in four games. Tarrant sits close behind with 3-14 from play, while Leahy again sits in third, tied with Aghabullogue’s James Lane.
