Sarsfields impressed to book their place in the Cork Camogie Senior League final at Riverstown.

Having blitzed their way to the semi-final stage, Sars had the momentum behind them and started on a roll with points from Rachael Roche, Maeve McCarthy and Lucy Allen.

Blackrock’s Hayley Ryan then converted a free and a 65 before the opening goal after 13th minutes when Olivia McAllen drove her effort into the net. Cliona Lynch added a point before successive frees from Ryan cut the gap to three points.

Juliet O’Keeffe pulled a point back for the visitors and Kate O’Sullivan grabbed her first score of the evening in additional time to leave it 1-4 to 0-6 to Sars on a difficult night for camogie.

Sars began the second half with a bang though as Lucy Allen tapped the sliotar home in the 32nd minute. She grabbed another white flag along with Olivia McAllen to put the hosts in control.

Ella Woods split the posts from range before Blackrock finally answered back in the 48th minute with an O’Sullivan free. Despite grabbing two more points, it was too little too late for the Rockies, with Sars goaling again through Allen in the 51st minute.

Kate Fennessy, McAllen and Woods rounded out the scoring and they now face St Finbarr’s in the showpiece event, after their victory over St Catherine’s.
