Consistency was rewarded at Ballygarvan on Saturday when the Gary, Joe and Nicole Freyne trained Not now Al won a tremendous Southern/Carrigaline Harriers Senior draghunt.

Reigning Senior champion Sean T continues to progress, and he duly snatched third ticket ahead of clubmate High Miss with Not now May and Hannah Bawn filling the remaining tickets.

Credit to the winning camp they had a tough season in the last campaign after coming out of the Puppy grade but they have certainly bounced back in style with the performances of all their hounds since the season began.

For the winning trainer Gary Freyne witnessing his hounds doing the business gives him great satisfaction.

“Last season was disappointing as our hounds just were not right but they wintered well and now we are seeing consistency on a weekly basis as we also filled fifth place with Not now May,” said Gary Freyne.

In the Puppy draghunt the hosts provided a good clean course and when they showed on the finish, they were a few in with a chance of landing the honours.

William Freyne and his grandson Ryan Duffy of Cloigheen have been firing on all cylinders since the start of the season and once again their charge Putting on the Style won a head bopper when crossing the tape ahead of the Starlight trained by Tristan, Ben and Olivia O’Herlihy.
