Cork, Kilkenny, Galway and Tipperary have made it through to the Electric Ireland All-Ireland minor camogie semi-finals that take place tomorrow, Saturday, as Cork take on Kilkenny at The Ragg at 2pm, whilst champions Galway face Tipperary.

It has been an interesting round robin series to date.

Kilkenny and Galway have been the standout sides.

Both finished their group stages with four victories each, and it was Kilkenny, who topped the group on scoring difference.

Tipperary came through with three wins to their credit, and in a dramatic last round of games, Cork edged out Limerick on the head to head after both finished on level points, and level on scoring difference.

The head to head result of their round two game where Cork ran out winners proved decisive.

Cork and Kilkenny met in the last group stage game where Kilkenny ran out 2-15 to 1-12 winners.

Two first-half goals gave Kilkenny the upperhand in a game where they knew they were already through to the semis, whilst Cork were chasing the win that was required.

At the full time whistle the drama continued as scores were double checked from the Limerick versus Waterford clash and it was confirmed Cork had grabbed the fourth semi-final spot.

Kilkenny are a strong side.

Aoife O’Grady, Amy O’Shea, Emily Phelan, Shauna Mahony and Ruth Crowley have been very much to the fore in all their outings to date.

Amy O’Shea is an excellent free taker and Cork will need to be mindful of this as conceding frees will be punished.

To their credit, Cork worked hard last day out and despite trailing they knew it very well might come down to scoring difference and as the clock ticked towards the 60 minute.

Kilkenny led by nine points and Cork looked to be heading out of the championship, but a goal two minutes into injury time from a long-range Lexi Manley free ended up being crucial for Cork, their never give up attitude helped get them over the line.

Lexi Manley is a superb free taker, and she will and has shown great accuracy all through the campaign.

Cliona Harte, Millie Lombard, Clara Murphy, Lauren O’Connor and Leah Hannigan are amongst the players who Mossie O’Sullivan will look to reach the final, and if they can show the same fighting spirit again this time out, it is within their grasp to get there.

CORK U23s

With two wins under their belts in the Glen Dimplex U23 All-Ireland camogie championship Jerry Wallace’s U23 side take on a Waterford side chasing their first win tonight in Castle Road at 7pm in round three.

Going on results to date, Cork will be expected to have too much strength for Waterford in this one, and with a game to go against Kilkenny on April 19th, they are well poised to make it to the semi-final.

CORK U16s

The U16A camogie team lost out to Waterford 2-6 to 1-6 in their last group game, but they still managed to grab the last semi-final spot over Limerick and Waterford.

The three sides were tied in fourth pace having each won one game, but thanks to a better scoring difference Cork have managed to join Kilkenny, Galway and Tipperary in the last four.
