Cork manager John Cleary has confirmed defender Matty Taylor is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a broken collarbone, ruling him out until after the Munster campaign.
The experienced Mallow man sustained the injury during the Rebels’ win over Kildare at Páirc Uí Rinn two weeks ago.
Although the setback is frustrating for both player and county, Cork will hope to have Taylor available again for the All-Ireland series.
The Rebels face Limerick in the Munster quarter-final on Sunday, April 12 at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh (2pm). If they do get to the Munster final, that's down for Sunday, May 10.
The Cork boss has also stated that forward Cathail O’Mahony will miss Cork’s Allianz Division 2 Football League final against Meath on Sunday in Croke Park at 1.45pm. The Mitchelstown man has struggled with injury in recent weeks.
Defender Seán Brady is also likely to be absent after picking up an injury a few days before the win over Tyrone last Sunday.
“Matty Taylor is out for Sunday, he'll miss the Munster championship as well, unfortunately. He broke his collarbone against Kildare, and Seán Brady probably won't make the weekend, and Cathail O'Mahony has a hamstring injury as well.

“Cathail had a quad injury and he has a hamstring now, so yeah, it's not the same injury. He should be back for the championship, he's just missing on Sunday.” Cleary concluded.
Cork's team for the battle with Meath at Croker will be announced later today.
