Great weekend for Douglas Hall, Leeds, Midleton and Leeside as they all advance in the Munster FA U17 Cup

The Leeds U17 Premier side who beat Fermoy 2-0 in their Munster FA U17 Cup that was a played at Leeds Park last Saturday afternoon.

It was a good weekend for Douglas Hall, Leeds, Midleton and Leeside as they all advanced to the next round of the Munster FA U17 Cup.

Douglas Hall took the short journey to Ballea Park to play the hosts Carrigaline United and they put in a superb performance winning 6-0 with their hotshot Vilson Sefolli on song by grabbing a hat-trick, their captain Darragh O’Flaherty adding a brace and Shane Barrett also hitting the back of the net.

Midleton Premier side took the bragging rights when they beat their own second team 7-0 at Knockgriffin with Eoin Garvey grabbing a hat-trick for himself and Ryan Cremin, Artan Lliukovic, Ronan Mackessy and Charlie McCarthy also getting on the scoresheet to see them ease into the next round of the competition.

Leeds beat Fermoy two nil in their fixture at Leeds Park, with the game scoreless at half time, Kaleb Alika-Mbounoua put them in front in the 56th minute and Aaron Crowley ensured that they advanced to the next round with a fine finish in the 75th minute.

Leeside had a home cup tie against Youghal United at Leeside Park and they made sure of their passage into the next round with a first half goal from Jack Norton and two second have strikes from James Kelly and Ayanda Mayo.

In the U19 League cup, Noel Coughlan Leeds travelled to Ballea Park to play the hosts Carrigaline United and came away with an impressive 4-1 victory. 

They led two nil at half time with Daryl Murray giving them the lead in the eighth minute and Alan Falat doubling their lead 2-0 in the 12th minute. 

Shane Creagh pulled a goal back for Carrigaline in the 53rd minute, however, goals from Conor Gardiner three minutes later and a late strike from Cillian O’Keffee in the 85th minute saw them safely into the next round.

Douglas Hall also advanced to the next round of this competition when they beat Lakewood Athletic 2-1 in Ovens. 

Steve Lyons game the Hall a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute and Ben Whelan doubled their advantage in the 20th minute and although a Steven Holmes 33rd minute goal for Lakewood, they held on to see them into the next round where they play host Leeds at Moneygourney.

There was a cracker of a Daly Individual Supplies U19 League 1 game at Ballyvackey where Clonakilty drew 3-3 with Midleton. 

Thomas Kelly gave the Magpies a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute, however, Charlie McCarthy added a brace of goals in the eight and 29th minute to give Clon a 2-1 lead. 

Kelly levelled the game in the 37th minute for both sides to go in at half time 2-2. 

Alex O’Reagan restored Clon’s lead in the 65th minute and when they thought that they claimed all three points Kelly stuck again six minutes into injury time to grab a share of the spoils for the Magpies.
