Cork boxer Danny 'Dannyboy' Keating moves to 11-0 in his professional career

Cork Boxing: Danny 'Dannyboy' Keating after his first round stoppage against Indian fighter Sachin Nautiyal at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland.
Cork professional boxer Danny 'Dannyboy' Keating moved on to 11-0 when he put on another dazzling display by stopping Indian fighter Sachin Nautiyal after a minute and a half of the first round at the Pat Rafter Arena, Tennyson in Queensland, Australia last weekend.
The 28-year-old is now based in Brisbane with his partner Zoe.
He took this fight with only three weeks notice and moved up from welterweight to middleweight.
However, Keating showed his ruthless streak to get his opponent out early.
Keating started the bout working behind his jab. However, he stiffened the legs of Nautiyal with a powerful overhand right to the head after 30 seconds.
As once Keating knew he had Nautiyal hurt, he began to close off the ring and pile on the pressure, but he still needed to be disciplined.
He rocked his opponent again with another good combination to the head and body 20 seconds later and showed his good footwork by getting in to hurt Nautiyal before he could counter.
Then came the finish after one and a half minutes. Keating walked Nautiyal into a left jab before unloading a punishing right hook to the body, which dropped his opponent to the canvas.
The Indian fighter never made the count for an early night for the impressive Keating.
“I had a great performance on the night considering the fight was so short notice,” Danny said.
“My opponent Nautiyal was supposed to give me a good, hard fight as he had a 90% knockout win ratio, but as soon as I saw that I could hurt him, I chased him down to get an early night for a change.
“I had also had to move up weight class for this fight as he was a natural middleweight fighter and I usually fight at welterweight.
"However, I thought it would be a good test for me in which I came through with flying colours.
"My manager Dennis Hogan, who was a former world champion himself did another great job by getting me on such a big fight night on another TV show and I hope we will have more of these great nights in the near future.
"I took the fight on short notice, however, as I was training all year round and I felt I was really for this fight.
"That certainly helped my short training camp and my trainer Mark Wilson did another amazing job to get me ready in that short time.
“I will sit down with Dennis and Mark in the next few weeks to plan my next fight would be great to get one more big fight in before the end of the year.
“I had three fights in the last10 months which is absolutely brilliant.
"I am really excited about what the future holds for me in the coming months and years."
