The race for the Senior draghunt championship continues to be an intriguing one with pacesetter Sean T of Griffin United remaining at the summit with a 13- point lead over clubmate High Miss.

The permutation for the title is simple if Sean T finishes in the first three on Sunday at Rylane he will be crowned champion.

If by chance Sean T finishes out of the tickets and High Miss manages to win the lead will be reduced to five points entering the final race at the All Ireland Senior draghunt on Sunday September 28.

Credit to both hounds they have been a model of consistency and the connections of both should be commended.

For the trainer of Sean T John and Sean O’Sullivan it will be a dream come true as the father and son partnership are dedicated trainers.

For Donal O’Donovan the trainer of High Miss winning the title would be a masterstroke and although Sean T is highly unlikely to slip up the effort of this hound should also be commended.

The Senior maiden title race will be decided on Sunday with four hounds vying for the coveted title.

The present leaders Hannah Bawn and Don’t Panic Lad are both now running in the Senior grade after getting their four wins in this grade.

It will a last chance for Slievemish Lord of Clogheen as he needs to finish in the first three hounds to win this championship at the death.

The Mickey O’Brien trained Tadgh’s Lad has an outside chance it what be an intriguing conclusion to a magnificent championship.

The Puppy championship has been sealed and many congratulations go to Damien Wade of Clogheen whose charge Slievemish Duchess was a worthy champion.

The Puppy maiden title goes to Tiger’s Belle trained by Gerry Murphy and Sheila Cummins of Shanakiel harriers.

It has been confirmed that the Puppy All-Ireland draghunt will this year be hosted at Ballyclough on Sunday September 21.
