College Corinthians keep their perfect season going with victory over Douglas Hall in the Murphy Youth Cup final

College Corinthians remains unbeaten in all competitions this season when the defeated Douglas Hall by three goals to nil in the U18 Murphy Youth Cup Final at Turner's Cross last Monday night.
After a very contested half hour it was Corinthians who took a one nil lead when Kealan Crowe turned in a Ty Corcoran cross at the back post. They increased their lead 2-0 seven minutes before half time, when Kai O’Neill score a superb goal after some good interlink play between Padraig McGrath set him up.

The boys from Castletreasure extended their lead six minutes after the restart.
Crowe played a superb pass to Corcoran and he coolly finished past Hordi Kirian in the Douglas goal.
To give credit the Douglas players they battled hard all over the pitch for the entire game, however, Corinthians were a different class and won their fourth trophy of the season.
Kai O’Neill from Corinthians showed his intent from the very first whistle and when he stretched his legs down the left wing in the fifth minute, he had the Hall back line in all sorts of trouble and was brought down just outside the penalty box.
From the resulting free kick Ty Corcoran saw is powerful effort go narrowly over the bar.
Douglas had their first shot on target six minutes later when Finn Hagermark’s header was pushed around the post by Corinthians keeper Raymond Foley-Kiss.
The boys in blue and white had a great opportunity to break the deadlock in the 14th minute, man of the match Kealan Crowe released Corcoran, however, he dragged his effort the wrong side of the post.
The Hall had a great chance a the half hour mark, Evan Cummins showed great vision to pick out Jonathan McLoughlin, however, his effort just went the wrong side of the post.
Corinthians took the lead 1-0 two minutes later, when Corcoran whipped in a dangerous cross to the back post and their captain Crowe finished from close range.
They increased their lead 2-0 in the 38th minute, after some nice interlink play between Padraig McGrath and O’Neill, the latter then raced through on goal to coolly finish to the back of the net.
It didn’t take Corinthians long to increase their lead in the second half, Crowe turned provider this time in the 51st minute to play a peach of a ball to the feet of Corcoran and he kept his composure to finish past Hordi Kirian in the Hall goal.

Douglas came close to pulling a goal back ten minutes later, Eoin Gibson gave a neat pass to Callum Kearney, however, his effort was well saved by Foley-Kiss in the Corinthians goal.
However, three minutes later Kirian came to the Hall’s rescue when he raced off his line to close down the angle to deny McGrath when he was through on goal.
Corcoran came close to added his second goal of the game in the 75th minute, he picked up a loose ball outside the box, but stung the hands of Kirian.
To be fair Douglas kept batting for the remainder of the game, however, they came up against a far more superior College Corinthians team on the night and the boys in blue and white ran out worthy winners by three goals to nil.
