Cork v Tipp Player Ratings: How the hurlers rated in league final at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh

Great variety in his puck-outs, often going short as well as using the wind in the opening period to target Brian Hayes. Some terrific passes in general play too though Tipp never tested him with a shot. 8.
Tagged Jake Morris initially. Out in front and read the play excellently, as he had throughout the campaign. Morris only got a small bit of joy when he was swapped further out the field. 8.
Had his hands full early with Jason Forde but settled into his groove. Like Morris, Forde got his second-half points from the half-forward line. Cork never looked like conceding a goal, which was in no small part down to the Glen man.
Man-marking league top-scorer Darragh McCarthy and used his strength and nous to shut down the youngster from play. Overall Cork's last line of defence was teak tough here.
Brilliant opening 35 minutes, hoovering up possession and lobbing over a monster score from his half. Didn't put a foot wrong in the second half either, though the sting was gone of it at that stage.
A beast at centre-back. Massive presence around the middle third and his galloping runs yielded three first-half assists. Second half was a far sloppier game but the captain remained in the thick of the action.
Justified his inclusion in the starting 15 with a beefy showing, strong in the air and rucks. Textbook hook early in the second half denied Sam O'Farrell the chance to get a shot off and his ferocious turnover led to Darragh Fitzgibbon's fourth point. 8.
Offers huge physicality as the deeper-lying midfielder. Supports his half-back line throughout but a threat shooting from long range too.
On the world of ball from throw-in, landing 1-2 in the first half, finishing his goal sublimely into the bottom corner. Emptied the tank before coming off for Tommy O'Connell.
Used as a link man as much as a scoring threat from wing-forward. Had 0-2 from play and should have added another couple. Another Rebel who ran himself into the ground.
Thriving in his half-forward deployment, gleefully turning Brian Hayes' pass into Cork's second goal. Finished with 1-4 and was fouled for a free. Cork had the luxury of withdrawing him in the last quarter after shipping a knock.
Snapped over a couple of tasty points, teed up Twomey for a goal and showed again why he's a championship option. Made way for Seamus Harnedy after 47 minutes.
From the first sliotar delivered into the D, he offered a reminder of his goal threat and had 1-2 on board by half-time. Earned a free in the second half and had a wide but the ball didn't bounce his way a few times when he looked like bursting clear.
BRIAN HAYES: Scoreless from play in the first half yet had 1-2 in assists and his size and athleticism mean there's always the option to drill it into the square.

Nabbed a lovely score in the second half before coming off.
Was sharp on the angled deliveries to the corner, grabbing 0-2 from play, directly setting up four points and twice getting fouled for a pair of converted frees.
The top scorer of all-time in the league after overtaking Eddie Keher last month and now in possession of an overdue national medal.
Introduced to a rousing cheer from the home crowd and was very busy without getting on the scoresheet.
Secured a couple of long balls inside but like Harnedy was almost trying to hard to make an impression.
Midfield replacement for Twomey and nailed one of only four second-half points Cork got from play. 7.
Only had a couple of possessions after replacing O'Brien, including a trademark tasty pick-up on the move.
Came in for Fitzgibbon and put himself about, including earning a late free.
On during the closing stages for Barrett.
