Round 3 of the Cork LGFA county leagues take place last weekend with a Division 1 Group 1 top-of-the-table clash between Mourneabbey and Aghada assuming top billing.
The former overcame O’Donovan Rossa (0-13 to 2-4) and Éire Óg (3-14 to 1-11) to get their season off to a perfect start. Reigning senior county champions Aghada were equally impressive in seeing off Rossa’s (2-10 to 2-5) and St Val’s (4-5 to 0-7).

The Haven’s other main scorers, Amy McCarthy, Ellen Connolly and Niamh O’Sullivan will require careful marking away to Naomh Abán.

Elsewhere in Division 1 Group 2, a West Cork derby between Clonakilty and Kinsale should produce plenty of scores in Ahamilla.
Each side has won once thus far with Clon having played a game more. The hosts will look to Sinead O’Donovan, Aisling Moloney, Siofra Pattwell, Aoife O’Flynn Meade and Katie O’Driscoll for scores. Kinsale’s senior team contains in-form players Catherine Murphy, Kate Redmond, Lorraine Copithorne, Caoimhe Horgan and Mary Claire Murphy.
