Cork LGFA keep their winning run in league going with a three point victory over Donegal
The all-important goal for the Rebels came in the first half when Aine Terry found the back of the net.
Donegal 0-8
Cork 1-8
Cork finished their Lidl Ladies Football Division 2 league campaign with another victory away to Donegal on Sunday.
It was a game that had no consequences for either team, bar finishing their campaign with a win.
Cork were already into the league decider and Donegal finished midtable so the outcome didn’t really matter.
The only thing that matters really was it kept Cork’s winning run going as they won all bar one of their games, against Galway, the side they will play in the league final in two weeks time.
The all-important goal for the Rebels came in the first half when Aine Terry found the back of the net.
She also scored a point, in what was her first start for the Rebels in a numbers of years having been abroad for a time.

Her ball-winning ability, as well as her scoring one, could be key factors for Cork going forward as she makes a welcome return to the squad.
Katie Quirke, Sadbh McGoldrick, and Laura O’Mahony were others to get on the scoresheet for Cork.
Donegal are never an easy side to beat and put it up to Cork for a lot of the game as their defensive set up is hard to break down.
They then try to break at pace and for them Susanne White was the key player, getting most of their scores.
It also gave manager Joe Caroll the chance to give players some game time and all those that travelled to Donegal got on the pitch over the hour.
After the game, Carroll said he was delighted to finish out the league with another win.
“It’s a long trip up to Donegal and it’s never an easy place to win so we are delighted to have taken the points and keep our winning run going in the league,” said Carroll.
“The wind was a factor and we had it in the first half so the goal was a big score and it set us up for the win. We were also able to give more players game time, which was great ahead of the league final in two weeks time,” concluded Carroll.
Meanwhile, on Saturday the minors had a good win in the Munster championship away to Tipperary by 0-10 to 0-4.
