Diarmuid Healy makes his first senior appearance for Cork with Alan Walsh and Jack Cahalane given first starts for Friday night’s Canon O’Brien Cup game against UCC at the Mardyke (7pm).

Having beaten Waterford in a challenge game last Saturday, the Rebels show 12 changes to the starting lineup as Brion Saunderson comes in goal, Eoin Roche and Seán O’Donoghue are named in the full-back line and Conor Cahalane and new captain Robert Downey are chosen at half-back.

Tim O’Mahony and Brian Roche form a new-look midfield while Healy, Shane Barrett and Shane Kingston are in the half-forward line. Pádraig Power – one of two survivors along with Niall O’Leary and Cormac O’Brien, is joined by Walsh and Jack Cahalane in the inside line.

Entry is €5, with all proceeds going to the Dillon Quirke Foundation.
