THE CORK hurlers proved the victory over Limerick was no fluke by demolishing Tipperary on their own turf.

Alan Connolly's hat-trick grabbed the headlines, his third this season, but even better Mark Coleman was back to his best and defensively Cork were well-structured and coped well with the concession of an early goal.

But will it all be for nothing? They go through the best and worst-case scenario for the Rebels in the last round of Munster Hurling Championship fixtures.

It was a terrific weekend overall, with the U20s snatching a Munster semi-final win late on away to Clare, the footballers getting off to a winning start in the Sam Maguire series in Ennis and the Cork camogie team securing the provincial title.
