IMOKILLY GAA and Amarenco have announced a new partnership with Amarenco taking over sponsorship of the East Cork GAA Hurling and Football leagues.

Amarenco, and Imokilly officially launched the partnership in Amarenco’s Cork-based office.

Present at the event were Amarenco’s Group Executive Chiarman John Mullins, as well as East Cork GAA President Jerry O’Sullivan, Chairperson Avril Geary, Vice-Chairperson Richard Fitzgerald, Secretary Patrick Mulcahy, Treasurer Oliver Loughlin, Public Relations Officer Jack McKay, and Imokilly hurler and Cork U20 star Jack Leahy.

Established in 2013 in Ireland, Amarenco was created by Alain Desvigne and John Mullins to finance and develop infrastructures around renewable energies in France and Ireland in particular.

With its sound business model integrating the complete chain for solar electricity production, the Amarenco Group enjoyed immediate growth, developing on three continents in only three years and has raised nearly €500m from well-known investors since 2020.

The company invests heavily in solar energy with the aim of reducing their carbon footprint.

Amarenco’s core mission has attracted a wide range of stakeholders,” says Amarenco Group Executive Chairman John Mullins. “From employees to investors and clients, all driven by a vision of regeneration and the belief in renewing resources and ecosystems to support sustainable energy solutions for a healthier planet.

“The Imokilly Division of the GAA celebrates 100 years this year and it has had an illustrious history. It also has a very bright future where games have never been as prevalent across the division. Amarenco is very proud to sponsor the Leagues for 2024.”

FUTURE PROOF

“We the Officers of the Imokilly Board are delighted to partner with Amarenco who have committed to Sponsoring the Hurling and Football leagues in East Cork,” says Imokilly Chairperson Avril Geary.

“We feel Amarenco is the perfect fit for Imokilly, the company invests heavily in the production of green energy that ultimately will benefit future generations and all our communities.

The GAA is rooted in every community in Ireland and our job is to ensure that this very important part of our culture is passed on to future generations. Never are we more mindful of this as we are in 2024, the Centenary year of the Imokilly Division.

“But for the vision of the great administrators that went before us, we wouldn’t be here today.

“Amarencos commitment to Imokilly will help offset the significant costs incurred by running successful hurling and football leagues with medals, printing and advertising. Amarenco are no strangers to GAA they have been very generously supporting the Castlemartyr Club over the last number of years and the name is synonymous with Castlemartyr at this stage.

“We are very grateful to John Mullins for recognising the need to secure sponsorship.

“John is a familiar face at GAA games throughout the division, county and indeed Páirc Uí Chaoimh, he is also member of The One Cork Committee whose ambition is to establish Cork GAA as one of the country’s premier sporting organisations and there is no doubt about his passion and commitment to our games.”
