U14 camogie titles head east after wins for Sars and Fr O'Neill's/Youghal

Mairead Donovan, registrar Cork Camogie Board, presents the Premier U14 championship trophy to Anna Nestor, captain of Sarsfields.

Sarsfields 4-22 Éire Óg 1-5

A HUGELY impressive display saw Sarsfields overcome a gallant Éire Óg to take the Premier U14 championship at Castle Road.

Playing against the stiff breeze in the opening half, Sarsfields laid the foundations for victory with early scores from Kate Fennessy, Nessa Treacy and Jane O’Brien.

Taking control of proceedings with Rachel Roche and Ava Fitzgerald doing huge work they picked off some great scores. The brilliant Fennessy grabbed two goals and Fitzgerald, O’Brien, Neveah O’Connell and Sinead Hurley all found their range to open up a 2-10 to 0-5 interval lead.
