Corkman John Mitchell celebrates victory over Alan Brykalsk at Cage Warriors.

CORK MMA star John Mitchell further enhanced his growing reputation with another comfortable win achieved against Alan Brykalsk recently in the welterweight division.

Mitchell won within the opening two minutes of the first round via submission following another brilliant performance. The Cork sports star was thrilled with his latest win.

“I'm very happy with the outcome. Alan Brykalski is a solid opponent who was a legitimate test for me. I'm very happy with the result and in terms of performance it was over before I really had a chance to show what I'm capable of.

"I was happy that I looked calm and composed and I was able to show off a high level of professionalism,” revealed the rising star.

John has now won his first two MMA bouts since turning professional last year. He is delighted with his progress to date.

“I’m definitely getting better all the time and I felt like a different competitor since my last fight in November. I'm looking forward to my next fight so that I can further show the improvements I've made.”

“Preparations went fantastically well. Even though we are in very uncertain times, I was fortunate enough to have a near perfect fight camp.

"My head coach Arann Maguire structured my fight camp and it ran very smoothly.”

John has enjoyed great support throughout his sporting journey from the Cork public.

He is very grateful to all his various sponsors and for the continued goodwill he receives from his growing fanbase. John is hopeful of competing back in his native city again as soon as possible.

“I really felt like all of Cork was behind me for this fight. Their support means so much to me. I am so grateful to all my team for their continued support.

"I had so many people reaching out to me before during and after the fight it was great to see. I'll hopefully get another fight in before the end of the year. It would be great to fight at home in Cork again.”

The ambitious MMA fighter is already back training hard as he seeks to secure another fight, restrictions pending in the foreseeable future.

John is determined and hungry to get to the top as quickly as possible.

“I'm back training again. My aim is to be in the UFC. If I continue to put on performances like I know I'm capable of, then I'm sure I can accomplish this goal.”
