The Cork International Film Festival, which returns next month for its 71st edition, will host the world premiere of the film Joe Bonamassa: The Spirit of Rory.
The documentary follows blues-rock guitarist Bonamassa on his visit last year to Cork to honour the enduring legacy of Irish blues legend Rory Gallagher in his hometown.
Filmed during three sold-out performances in Cork, the film brings Rory’s music and influence to life through performances, rare footage, and personal reflections from those who knew him and were inspired by his work, including Brian May, Slash, and more.
A celebration of Rory’s legacy and the lasting impact of his music, the film offers a portrait of one of Cork’s most-celebrated musical sons.
Joe Bonamassa: The Spirit of Rory will premiere at 6pm on Wednesday, November 18, at The Everyman, with the screening followed by a Q&A with Rory’s brother Dónal and a special guest.
