Out of control car struck a kerb before ramming a garda car, Cork court told
Judge Waters adjourned the case against Emmanuel Anabaagain until October 12 for defence to indicate if the case was being contested or if signed pleas of guilty were being entered.
A substantial risk of death or serious injury occurred at a bus stop where passengers were queuing when an out of control car collided with a kerb. That was alleged in a case where a book of evidence is to being prepared.
It is further alleged that the same motorist rammed a garda patrol car during the rampage in the Douglas area.
At Cork District Court, Sergeant Aisling Murphy said that a book of evidence containing eight charges, including a count of drug-dealing, is in the course of being prepared.
Judge David Waters said the case had been adjourned for the defence to indicate if the case was being contested or if signed pleas of guilty were being entered.
Defence solicitor Killian McCarthy asked for a further adjournment so that this matter could be considered.
Judge Waters adjourned the case again until October 12 for that purpose.
Detective Garda Dermot Crowley charged Emmanuel Anaba of Alden, Shamrock Lawn, Douglas, Cork, with the various counts which included two endangerment charges.
The man faces an endangerment charge related to June 13, 2025 at the junction of Grange Road and Shamrock Park, Douglas, where it is alleged that he rammed a patrol car.
The second endangerment charge alleges that his car collided with a kerb, losing control, where people were waiting at an adjacent bus stop, again creating a substantial risk of death or serious injury.
Mr Anaba is charged with two counts of causing criminal damage.
In relation to alleged seizures of drugs at Grange in Douglas and later at an address at Inis Mór, Ballincollig, he is charged with possession of drugs and having them for the purpose of sale or supply in respect of each location, all on the same date, June 13, 2025.
