Tender issued to expand University College Cork park-and-ride shuttle service

The park-and-ride service will transfer staff and students to and from the main college campus and its satellite parking facilities.

University College Cork (UCC) wants to appoint a transport provider to expand its park-and-ride shuttle under a €1.7m contract.

The park-and-ride service will transfer staff and students to and from the college and its satellite parking facilities. The service would be provided for four years.

The tenderer will have the opportunity to extend the contract for a further year at the discretion of UCC.

At present, there is a requirement for up to four buses to operate the contract daily.

Drivers would be expected to service a route to and from the university campus, with stops at the Youngline Industrial Estate on the Pouladuff Rd; the Presentation Brothers Sports Grounds at Dennehy’s Cross; and the Black Ash Park and Ride depot.

The shuttle service would also be expected to initially operate along the four main bus stops around UCC at the Brookfield Health Science complex entrance, at UCC’s main campus entrance, at Honan’s Chapel on Donovan’s Rd, and at Lee Maltings on the Dyke Parade.

Tender applications will be accepted until 12pm on October 30.
