Man, 20s, arrested after cannabis worth €323k seized in Mallow district

Cannabis worth €323,000 has been seized and a man in his 20s has been arrested in Cork.
The operation was conducted in the Mallow district on Saturday by gardaí in the Cork County divisional drugs unit, with assistance from Cork county crime units, regional dog units and the armed support unit.
Several homes were searched during the course of the operation, and cannabis with an estimated street value of approximately €208,000, pending analysis, was seized.
The arrested man is currently detained in a garda station in the county under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
In a follow-up search in Doneraile, cannabis with an estimated value of €115,000, subject to analysis, was also seized.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
