White's Cross man on drugs charges has case adjourned

Additional charges were brought against a 26-year-old man arising out of two drug seizures in Cork city.

Daniel Collins of Coole East, White’s Cross, was charged with more counts stemming from the investigation.

A memo of the garda interview with Daniel Collins is to be sent to his solicitor Eddie Burke so that consideration can be given to the possibility of the accused man entering a signed plea of guilty to the charges.

Judge David Waters adjourned the case until October 7 to allow time for that to be done.

He was charged with possession of cannabis for sale or supply at North Monastery Road on January 22, where it is alleged the street value of the drugs was €60,000.

He is also charged with a similar count related to the same date at Immal Court, The Glen, where it is alleged that the value of the cannabis was €610,000.

Among the charges now faced by the accused is one for having drugs with a street value of more than €13,000, which carries a 10-year minimum sentence on conviction unless there are exceptional circumstances.
