McDonald’s to bring 80 new jobs to Carrigaline with new drive-thru and restaurant

McDonald’s will open its latest new Cork restaurant in Carrigaline next month, creating 80 new jobs in the process.

The €6.6m investment will see the 330sq m restaurant feature a dual-lane drive-thru, 30 car parking spaces, bicycle parking, electric vehicle charging facilities, and an outdoor seating area. From October 21, the restaurant will be open seven days a week, with a 24-hour drive-thru and delivery service, and internal seating available from 7am to 11pm.

The opening brings the total number of McDonald’s restaurants in the Republic of Ireland to 99, with the first in Ireland opening on Grafton Street in Dublin in 1977.

The Carrigaline outlet will provide a mix of full-time and part-time positions, alongside opportunities in mid and senior management.

McDonald’s franchisee Jim Ronayne, who also operates several McDonald’s restaurants across Cork and Tipperary, has said the addition of the new restaurant in Cork will help to further strengthen the deep connection between McDonald’s and the people of Cork.
