Applications open for cost-rental scheme in Cork city

Applications have opened for more than 50 cost rental homes in Cork city.

The 52 homes, delivered by Clúid — an approved housing body (AHB) — consist of 39 three-bed units and 13 four-bed units.

Located in Longview in Ballyvolane, the homes will see residents paying 25% below the market average, Clúid said. 

Rent for the three-bed homes will cost €1,455 per month, while rent for the four-bed homes will cost €1,594 per month.

Chief executive officer at Clúid, Averil Power, said that the organisation is well aware of the difficulties facing those trying to find a secure, good value home in the private rental sector.

“We’re therefore delighted to open applications for these high-quality three- and four-bed homes,” she added.

“With rents at least 25% below the market average, this is a great opportunity for individuals and families to enjoy a secure, long-term tenancy, in a brand new, high-quality, mixed-tenure development, close to all the amenities of Ballyvolane and Cork city,” said Ms Power.

“We are expecting high demand for these homes, due to the high quality, excellent location and reduced rents.

“We’re urging interested applicants to familiarise themselves with the eligibility requirements and to complete their applications as soon as possible.”

The homes, developed by Longview Estates, were delivered by Clúid in partnership with Cork City Council, and with the support of the Department of Housing, Heritage, and Local Government, the Housing Agency and the Housing Finance Agency.
