Gardaí probe report of petrol bomb attack on city's northside
It is the latest in a string of petrol bomb attacks which have targeted homes across the city and suburbs this year.
Gardaí are investigating a suspected petrol bomb attack on a home in Cork City at the weekend.
The alleged attack occurred in the Bride Valley Park area of Fairhill on the northside of the city on Saturday night at approximately 10.15pm.
Firefighters were at the scene quickly and put out the fire but extensive damage has been done to the property.
It is the latest in a string of petrol bomb attacks which have targeted homes across the city and suburbs this year.
In a statement, An Garda Síochána said they and emergency services attended the scene following reports of an incident of criminal damage by fire at a residence in the Fairhill.
"All occupants of the house were reported as evacuated," gardaí said.
"Fire services extinguished the fire and made the area safe.
Investigations are ongoing, the statement said.
