Man (50s) dies following collision in Cork
A man has died following a collision involving a van in Cork city.
A man has died following a collision involving a van in Cork city.
Gardaí believe the incident happened between 10pm on Monday and 2.10am on Tuesday on Lee Road.
The driver, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has since been removed to a local mortuary, where an autopsy will take place in due course.
The coroner has been notified.
The scene remains closed while gardaí carry out a technical examination. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who were travelling on Lee Road, Cork, between 10pm on Monday, September 14, and 2.10am on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
