Unsettled weather conditions in Cork will continue in the days ahead, according to the latest outlook from Met Éireann.
The national weather forecaster said it will be generally dull on Wednesday with patchy outbreaks of light rain and drizzle.
Some limited sunny spells may develop as the day progresses with highest temperatures of around 17 to 20 degrees in a moderate southwesterly breeze.
Wednesday night will start off mostly cloudy with well-scattered showers.
Clear spells will become more frequent as the night progresses and it will be another mild night with lowest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees, with a light to moderate southwesterly breeze.
As of around 7.30am, traffic around the Dunkettle Interchange is largely moving freely.
Cork City Council has advised that a road closure is currently in place on College Rd.
The closure is in effect between its junction with Gaol Walk to its junction with Highfield West to facilitate ESB trenching and ducting that is part of large ESB upgrade project taking place in the locality.
Elsewhere, traffic cameras on the N28 capturing areas of Rochestown, Maryborough, Shannonpark Roundabout and Shanbally are currently showing no queueing, but traffic is building on Carr’s Hill.
Thursday is expected to get off to a dry start for many before turning wet for the afternoon and evening with widespread rain.
The rain will be heavy and persistent at times.
Highest temperatures will be between 17 and 21 degrees, with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
The national outlook states that it will be wet and breezy at times as unsettled conditions continue for the remainder of the week and into the weekend.
