Get creative with course on reviving and repairing your clothes on Cork's southside

Ready to get creative with your clothes and textiles? The Rethread Project is an eight-week community sewing programme for residents of Ballyphehane, Turner’s Cross and Togher.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already handy with a needle, you’ll learn practical skills to mend, repair, upcycle and transform unwanted textiles into something useful and unique.
However, it’s not just about sewing. It’s also about meeting people, sharing skills, getting creative and building connections in the local community, and no experience is needed.
The course will run on Mondays from 2pm to 4pm in Turner's Cross Community Centre on September 14, 21, 28, October 19 and November 2, 9, 16 and 23.

This course is for participants aged 18+ only and funded through the Cork City Council Waste Prevention Grant 2026, in partnership with Ballyphehane/Togher Community Development Project, Turner's Cross Community Association and Gay Project.
