New weekly TV show to celebrate 'what makes Cork special' 

A new weekly TV show, Cork TV, is set to connect Cork people living around the world with their home when it launches next month.

The new television venture comes from the producers of Hot Country TV, Europe's longest-running country music television programme, which has been broadcasting continuously for almost 17 years.

Producer and proprietor Hugh O’Brien said: “This is a fresh and exciting television programme which is about to put Cork on the map like never before.” 

“The programme will showcase the stories, people, places and culture that make Cork unique - from local legends and emerging talent to stunning scenery. community spirit and so much more. Cork TV promises to be a platform for the people of Cork.” 

The one-hour weekly show, will begin airing from September 7 on Sky Channel 588, Freeview Channel 279, Free-to-Air Satellite, Faith World TV, Faith World TV Free APP, Hot Country TV Free App & Player, Veusat Digital, Facebook, YouTube and www.hotcountrytv.com, reaching homes throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom and worldwide.

Cork TV aims to target both local and international audiences - the programme will be produced in partnership with the London Irish Association and the Corkman Associations in Boston, New York and across the UK.

Mr O’Brien said: “Whether you're walking down Patrick Street, enjoying life in West Cork, or reminiscing about home from across the Atlantic, Cork TV will be your front-row seat to everything Cork has to offer-from culture and cuisine to sport, business, music and community life."

Producer Hugh O'Brien said: “By partnering with organisations in London, Boston and New York, we will connect Cork people everywhere with their home, heritage and heart.

“Cork TV will celebrate what makes Cork special while bringing local stories to an international audience.” 

The Cork TV team is inviting individuals, community groups clubs, businesses and organisations from across Cork to get involved.

The production team plans to visit towns and villages throughout Cork in search of interesting stories, inspiring people, local events and unique features.

Mr O’Brien said: “If you have a story to tell, an event to promote, a local character who deserves recognition, or an idea for programme content, we would love to hear from you.

“We are interested in highlighting community heritage, tourism attractions, sporting art and cultural events, business innovation and she people who make Cork such a special place to live.”
