Rose Lexi Linnane to fundraise for Cork Stroke Support

The Cork Rose of Tralee for 2026, Lexi Linnane, is fundraising and raising awareness for the charity Cork Stroke Support (CSS), a charity dear to her heart.

Ms Linnane will be hosting her Rose of Tralee send-off event at the Blackrock Inn from 5pm on Sunday. The event will include a raffle with numerous prizes and collection boxes to raise funds for the services provided by CSS to stroke survivors and families across Cork and Munster.

Ms Linnane’s mother Tracey passed away suddenly from a stroke in 2023, at just 37 years old. Her grandmother has also been affected by stroke and is living with physical disabilities and aphasia.

She said her mother’s death “turned our world upside down.”

“No family ever imagines losing someone so young to a stroke. Before then, I never realised just how important it was for people to know that stroke doesn’t only affect older people.

“It can happen to anyone, at any age, and it can change lives in an instant.”

Ms Linnane said she hopes to start conversations and spread awareness of the condition, with particulalr emphasis on helping people recognise the signs of a stroke.
