Woman, 20s, hospitalised following stabbing in Cork city suburb
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A woman, 20s, has been taken to hospital following a suspected stabbing at Ballinlough in Cork city yesterday.
Gardaí attended the scene of the incident, which occurred at 6.30pm at Churchyard Lane in Ballinlough.
Speaking to , a garda spokesperson confirmed that a woman, aged in her 20s, was taken from the scene to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested following the incident and is currently being detained at a garda station in Cork city.
Labour Party councillor for the Cork city South East ward, Peter Horgan said: “This is a tight-knit residential area and there’s obviously a lot of concern from residents this evening.
“We need to let gardaí conduct their investigations with all the information that they need.”
