Gardaí seek assistance after ATM theft in East Cork

Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance as part of an investigation into the theft of an ATM machine in East Cork yesterday.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 1.30am at the Bank of Ireland premises at East Gate Village in Little Island, involved the use of an industrial telehandler.
The facade of the building was extensively damaged during the course of the theft, seeing the external ATM machine, which was wall-mounted outside the banking premises, stolen from the scene.
A technical examination of the scene has been conducted.
While no arrests have been made in relation to the case, with “investigations ongoing”, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has said that gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
Any persons or motorists who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the Little Island area - including along the N25 westbound between Junction 3 Cobh Cross and Junction 2 Little Island - between 9pm and 6am on the on June 9 and 10, is asked to make this available to gardaí.
