Cork man’s song an homage to Páirc Uí Chaoimh
Cork singer-songwriter Myles Gaffney has recorded a track entitled ‘Páirc Uí Chaoimh Lives in Me’.
A challenge posed by Cork hurling legend Tomás Mulcahy to come up with a Cork GAA song 'for the generations' was the inspiration behind a newly released single by Cork singer songwriter Myles Gaffney.
is a song which tells the tale of how sporting traditions are passed down through generations and how the memories made can last forever.
The song is a collaboration with Belfast songwriter and native Ciara Mc Menamin of Born Here Studio.
Mr Gaffney said “When I heard Ciara's lyrics, I thought how I could adjust the words for my own beloved Cork and with the conversation with Tomás (Mulcahy) lingering in the back of mind.
"The lyrics are simple but hit the listener right in the heart.”
The song is now available on all good online platforms and also just in time for the big Munster Hurling Final this Sunday.
